Antique Papier Mache Painted Tilt Top Table

Description

Beautiful papier-mache painted table, believed to be French in origin. The entire table is ebonised and richly decorated with a beautiful landscape scene depicting a quaint house by a river with a boy and girl in a boat. It sits on a shaped pedestal base terminating in tri-form base with three shaped feet deocrated with gilded patterns. The table top is 24"/60cm in diameter

It is a good sturdy table that is structurally sound. The tilt mechanism works well. There are no obvious signs of damage and the paintings have remained bright and vibrant with minimal fading. The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask.
