Extending Dining Table

19th century
Description

A very fine and rare George IV figured mahogany concertina action pembroke/extending dining table stood on six finely turned and reeded legs with original brass cup castors. This is a very useful and compact table as it can be used as a small occasional table and it can be extended with three 24 inch table leaf additions making it up to a 10 foot dining table.

The table has one original and two contemporary leaves with the wood being of the same quality and age.

When closed and with the leaves down the table is two foot wide and can then be extended to 4, 6, 8 and 10 foot with the side leaves up. The leaves lock together with brass table locking forks.
