Eastern Carved and Inlaid Octagonal Folding Table

An early 20th century Eastern carved and inlaid octagonal hardwood folding occasional table.

This table consists of an octagonal top with circular inlaid foliage design to the centre with a carved border of grape and vine leaf decoration.

This lead down to the base which is profusely carved with grape and vine decoration on all eight sides.

The table base can be folded as seen in the last photograph which this makes it a very versatile for modern day living. Although the base folds, once the top is placed into position the table becomes stable and rigid for use.

As seen on photograph seven the table has a silver plaque stating that it was presented to S/Ldr & Mrs Knight from The congregation & choir of Christchurch, Steamer Point, Aden. There was an RAF base at Steamer Point at this time & Aden remained a British colony until 1963.

This table is in very good condition, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
