18th Century Irish Cuban Mahogany Side Table. C. 1770

Description

18TH century Georgian Irish Cuban mahogany side table with drawer. The beautifully grained top with typical Irish type carved edge. The drawer with carved cock beading is oak lined with green baize inside. The drawer retains its original chased swan neck brass handles and escution.

The bottom of the carcass has a carved astragal type moulding all round including the back. The back of this table is also mahogany and finished.

The table bears a label underneath the top as pictured for M. BUTLER Ltd of UPPER ABBEY STREET, DUBLIN who had obviously retailed the table at some point in the early 20th century.

The table has had a couple of restorations over the years but is sound and is a gorgeous colour and patination.
