M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 1900s.
Having been polished and finished to imitate the patina and wear of a period table. The cross-banded top with cross-grain moulded edge which had been made with shrinkage to simulate age.

The frieze inlaid with panels of double herringbone banding , again a feature consistent with a walnut table from the first quarter of the C18th. The half-round top with burr veneers in 'book-matched' opposing sections.

The top with some old marks and wear consistent with age and use .
Good piece of period style decoration of useful ,practical scale.
Excellent colour and patination, cleaned and waxed.
