This rare ENGLISH DRY-BODIED STONEWARE DOUBLE WINE BOTTLE COOLER bears the impressed mark ADAMS to the base and dates from circa 1820.
The white stoneware tub, with bands of ribbed brown simulating barrel staves, has two attached cylindrical jars inside. The tub has classical sprig relief decoration to both sides.
The condition is good with some minor chips to the footrim. There is no restoration. There would originally have been metal handles fixed through the purpose-made apertures at either end.
Height: 6.5 inches (16.5 cm)
Width: 12.5 inches (32 cm)
Depth: 9 inches (23 cm)
