Small Japanese Satsuma Thousand Butterfly Bowl Taizan

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this pretty little Japanese satsuma bowl finely decorated to the interior in the thousand butterfly pattern , the exterior of the bowl decorated in tranquil garden scenes with birds and butterflies in flight amidst flora and between geometric borders , the underside of the bowl impressed with the Taizan factory mark , the Taizan factory mainly supplied the blanks to the leading artists of the period and it is very likely that this bowl was painted by an artist like Meizan or Seikozan, an incredible level of patience and skill was required in painting such a small area with so many butterflies !
The condition is lovely with minimal wear .
