Here is a very good quality antique English William IV mahogany occasional table, circa 1830. The table, which is constructed of solid mahogany, features a hinged one-piece (a sign of good quality) circular top with a simple moulded edge. The top boasts a good quality grain configuration. A well-shaped ring turned stem supports the table. At the base is a further very good quality ring turned collar, which connects to an elegant triform base on bun feet. This style of leg is typical of the William IV period. This table has a fantastic colour and patination. This would be an ideal table to have in the living room as either a drinks or lamp table.

The table features a rich mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This truly is a very beautiful item with quality construction and is original throughout. It is rare to see one in such good condition.

Dimensions:

Height = 69.6cm or 27” or 2ft 3”

Diameter = 54cm or 21¼” or 1ft 9¼”

Condition Report:

This table is in excellent condition. The top and base are original to each other. There is an excellent colour to the table and stem. The working locking mechanism under the table is a very old replacement. There are no scratches, stains or marks to the top of the table. The table boasts its original polish, which is why the colour and patination is excellent. This patination cannot be recreated through re-polishing. This table is solid in joint and ready to use.
