E W Cousins and Son has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The flaps having mahogany and olivewood veneered panels. One with marquetry inlaid tea service the other with inkwell and quills, vase of flowers, desk box, books, bottle and a envelope. The top with oval satinwood and olivewood panel with marquetry inlaid curtain swag, urn with flowers, jar and panelled box. All flanked by an envelope, quill, book, and a spray of flowers. Mahogany lined drawer to each end with boxwood stringing. On 6 turned and facetted legs two being hinged to hold the drop leaves when open. All on brass castors and having a shaped undertier stretcher again with stringing.
