Description

GILLOWS of LANCASTER: a fine quality early/mid 19th century mahogany CARD TABLE in excellent condition.

This splendid table, probably of the William IV period, is beautifully constructed, with a well-figured mahogany top which opens to reveal the baize-lined interior.

The frieze is decorated with turned "egg-and-bead" mouldings to the lower edge, and it is supported on typical Gillows turned and reeded legs terminating in fine quality cast brass castors. 36ins (91.5cms) wide.
