Superb Quality Anglo Indian Padouk Carved Work Table

A superb quality Anglo Indian padouk profusely carved work table.

This table consists of a shaped oval top of superb faded patina (colour).

Underneath the top is a shaped and finely carved frieze with a pieced & scrolling leaf design beneath.

This carved frieze conceals a fitted drawer containing many compartments including a central section with original red fabric: this drawer would have contained sewing items and accessories.

Underneath the drawer is a superbly carved removable wooden basket and again this would have contained needlework accessories etc.

The legs are very decorative, being of a pierced and s-scroll shape design and having profusely carved leaf and scroll decoration.

The legs terminate on scroll feet with supports beneath.

The legs are supported by a central carved stretcher, finely carved with a bird looking up towards the carved basket.

As will all our items this table is in very good condition and can go straight into a home.
