Chippendale Period Mahogany Pembroke Table

Description

A charming late 18th century "Butterfly" shaped mahogany PEMBROKE TABLE in very good original condition.

The well-figured solid top, with its twin hinged flaps, features pretty shaped leaves and bow-fronted ends, whilst below is an oak-lined frieze drawer with restrained cross banding around the drawer front. It is supported on good stop-fluted tapering legs, which terminate in distinctive "block" feet, with carved 'panels' and the original brass and leather barrel castors.

Fine original condition with a good warm patina. 28ins high; 30ins deep; 20ins wide (closed); 37.5ins wide (open) (71 x 76 x 51 x 95cms)
