Description

A charming little Georgian side table in mahogany. This beautiful piece of English furniture – of diminutive proportions being only 15.5” (395mm) wide – was probably used as a sewing table. It is finished all round however, and therefore can be used in the middle of a room as a small wine table. Alternatively, it could be used in place of a bedside cabinet. The gently tapering square-section legs are united by a cross stretcher and the top lifts up to reveal a useful storage compartment. It retains its original finish throughout and has a rich warm colour and patina. George III, c.1800/c.1820.
