This is an attractive and very good quality antique French provincial cherry wood farmhouse table from the 2nd Empire period, circa 1850, in original condition. This table would have been used in a country property in France during the 2nd Empire Period. The table, which comfortably seats six persons, features a beautiful cherry wood three-plank top with a lovely grain configuration and working drawer on one sine, which also retains the original brass drawer knob. The table frame, which is constructed in the traditional peg construction, sits on four very pretty tapered legs. The table boasts a superb colour and is in excellent original condition.
The table boasts a rich yellow/red mellow cherry wood colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the kitchen. This item would certainly grace any home. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Condition Report:
Considering its age, this item is in excellent original condition. There are no stains or cup marks to the top of the table. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The working drawer features its original brass knob. The drawer is in good working order and closes flush to the frame. Free of active woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
