18th Cent. Scottish Mahogany Card Table. Fluted Legs

Description

Good 18th century Scottish mahogany card table of very nice narrow size. Full width drawer with cock beading which is satin birch lined with period rococo brass handles although they are not original but in the original holes.

Thumb moulded tops with almost plum pudding mahogany veneered top. The inside with mahogany cross banding and a boxwood line then baize which has been recently re-done.

Great shape and design of legs. Fluted with shaped tassle toe.

The whole piece is a lovely rich colour and patination from years and years of waxing. There is a small thin slither of veneer missing from the back edge of the top but it basically doesn't show at all.

SIZE; 36" wide by only 16" from front to back by 29" high
