A truly astonishing find; a fine example of an early/mid 20th century small low table of superbly well-figured timbers. The roughly hewn rectangular top is a burr wood – probably burr elm – of the richest colour imaginable. It is supported on four inverse-tapering faceted legs that have a distinct Arts & Crafts influence. Ideal as a coffee table for a cottage or a country house. This wonderful piece of English furniture – a really lovely table full of charm and rustic character – dates from c.1920s -c.1930s.
