Unusual Victorian Burr Walnut Antique Sofa Table

This delightful Victorian antique sofa table is made from burr walnut, is full of character and dates from around 1870. It has two drop leaves and elegant inlay. This lovely piece has two beautifully figured drawers with decorative white porcelain handles. It has turned up right supports with a central turned cross stretcher and decorative end finials. It stands on four splayed legs with four brass lion paw casters. The table is full of charm and character and old repairs from years of use, as to be expected from a piece of this age, and is a lovely medium warm shade of walnut. It has a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
