As the table retains its original polish, the table has a stunning colour and patination to the tabletop. This stunning colour can only be found in furniture with its original polish; it cannot be recreated with new polish. The table has a reeded fore edge in the typical style of the Regency period. The table can be extended to fit a separate leaf. The table is 5ft 1½” long as standard but can be extended to 6ft 11½”. The leaf is fixed in place by four sliding brass clips. The table is supported by two elegant splayed central pillar pedestal supports. The legs feature the original brass caps and castors.
The table can therefore seat between six to eight people comfortably; it is sufficiently tall enough to fit your legs underneath and sufficiently wide to accommodate serving dishes in the centre of the table.
Condition Report:
The table is in very good condition. The table features the original top, base, pedestal, legs and brass castors. As the table retains its original polish, the table has a stunning colour and patination to the tabletop. This stunning colour can only be found in furniture with its original polish; it cannot be recreated with new polish. There has been a very old repair to the one of the legs; this is now completely solid. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The top is free from marks, scratches and water stains. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
