Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1900s.
It has a rectangular top with a beautiful marble insert, ideal for hot cups, and is framed by a gadrooned edge. It stands on four carved cabriole legs finished with ball and claw feet. Originally constructed in the early 1900s this antique piece has been later adapted to create this very practical table for the modern home whilst still retaining its sense of history. The height and stability of the table also lends itself to be a very attractive TV stand perhaps? The walnut is a lovely warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
