George III Gillows Mahogany Serving Table. C. 1795

Description

FINE quality George III Gillows style mahogany serving table in as found condition. Very elegant long, turned and reeded legs. Breakfront shape with curved ends. The fronts in flame mahogany with three drawers and one cupboard, the drawers all being mahogany lined. Ebony string inlay to the drawers fronts, tops of the legs and around the bottom edge of the base all round.

The top which has no splits has a double ebony line all round with a 4" wide mahogany banding, again all round including the back.

The piece requires a gentle clean and wax plus a few small veneer repairs and a lock to the cupboard door.

It stands very well.

SIZE; 72" long by 30" wide by 36" high
