A Pair of Superb Mahogany Console Tables of Fine Quality in the Classical Design.

An early 20th century pair of superb quality mahogany console tables of fine quality in the Classical form, influenced by Robert Adam.

The tops are solid mahogany with a carved egg & dart moulding underneath.

This leads down to a carved frieze depicting a central carved Classical urn framed in a moulded panel with a scrolled foliage & flower decoration of fine quality.

The top sits on four tapered legs, the top of each leg having applied, chamfered mouldings leading down to a fluted leg.

These terminate with a design of an upward acanthus leaf on an acorn foot.

The tops have a more faded appearance (see photo 5) compared to the rest of the table.

These tables could be put together to form a circular table but are really more suited to their original use, as console tables.

These tables are in excellent order & stable construction.
