Fine Quality Figured Walnut Antique Card Table – Side Table

Dating from around ca. 1870 this Fine Quality Figured Walnut Antique Card Table would make the perfect console or side table when not otherwise being used. It has a beautifully figured serpentine shaped top that is mirrored in grain, so done by a true Victorian craftsman. The top swivels open to double its size, revealing a concealed games compartment in the process and the playing surface is finished in green baize. Below the top can be found a delightfully figured apron and the table stands on a central decoratively carved turned pedestal with four scrolled beautifully crafted legs finished with white porcelain castors. This is a beautiful antique table that has aged to a wonderful rich warm walnut with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
