M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 1800s.
Good flat, thick top with rich original colour and patina , with some marks and stains commensurate with age and use. The period timber extra leaf supported on turnable 'fly' supports and held by integral flattened 'dowels', whilst secured by brass fork clips and sockets.

A nicely-scaled two-pillar table of outstanding quality timber and understated design, together with the flexibility of an extension leaf. Has never been fitted with castors , and an early example of a table of this type and configuration.

Comfortably a 6-8 person dining table ,which can be reduced to compact proportions of breakfast table size, alternatively the twin sections could be used as side or pier tables when not in use for dining.
Cleaned and waxed.
