Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The two well-figured solid mahogany circular 'trays' retain their original turned baluster galleries and are separated by a well-carved solid mahogany vase-shaped pillar, while it is supported on a similar beautifully carved tripod base, with carved acanthus leaves to the "knees" and carved pad feet. Below are the original brass castors, and it stands 34.5ins high (87cms); the top tier: 19ins diameter (48cms).
A pretty, lovely quality and elegant piece of particularly good warm colour.
