Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The rectangular top has a moulded lower edge above a frieze drawer that displays cock beading and the original brass swan neck handles. The table stands elegantly on four tapering legs which still retain the original attractive pierced fretwork brackets to the hip (these often break over time so this table is quite rare still having them in place). The oak is full of charm and character, expected in an antique of this age, and is a warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
