GILLOWS of LANCASTER: a particularly fine quality and well-documented lady's READING, WRITING and SEWING TABLE in superb condition.

Constructed in well-figured rosewood by this highly regarded firm of cabinetmakers, this cleverly designed piece has many features which include:

* Blind-tooled leather writing surface

* Removable solid book support

* Adjustable sliding reading slope

* Two mahogany-lined main drawers

* Two further pen-and-ink drawers

* Twin side folding leaves

* Silk-pleated sliding sewing drawer and...

all supported on typical "Gillows" turned and reeded solid rosewood legs with original cast brass castors. Complete with copies of 3 different original drawings, and original (working) key.
