George III Style Serpentine Side Table

Description

Circa 1890, George III style serpentine fronted side table. The mahogany top has satinwood banding and string inlay of boxwood and ebony. Beneath the top, there are 2 serpentine drawers with simple string inlay with canted corners, and swan neck handles. In the centre there is an oval panel with a classical urn, framed with boxwood string inlay. At each end is a similar oval panel again of an urn with flowers. The table stands on 4 square tapering legs which have similar inlay to the drawer fronts, a mixture of chequered and string inlay, and finishing on tassel toes. Neat sized table of mellow colour and good condition.

Size 90cm high x 152cm wide x 60cm deep.
