Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
It has a rectangular beautifully figured top with rounded corners that tilts on a brass mechanism. It stands on an elegant turned pedestal with tripod splayed scrolled legs. Although the table is a marriage, it is a very good one and undertaken during the Victorian period. The table also shows signs of old repairs, expected in a piece of this age, however these do not detract from its beauty or elegance and the table is priced accordingly. It is a lovely medium shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
