Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1890s.
It has a raised shape back above a bow fronted top with moulded edge and brown faux leather writing insert. The front has two long, over two shorter oak lined drawers with original brass handles. The edges are delightfully finished with satinwood cross banding and boxwood and ebony string inlay. The antique table stands on four tapering legs with spade feet. It is a warm, mellow mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
