Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1890s.
It consists of two 'D' ends, which make perfect matching console tables if used separately, and a central drop leaf table. When all placed together they create a lovely large dining table held together with brass 'D' clips. The top is made from solid mahogany and stands on tapering legs below a classically simple apron. It is a very sturdy and practical table whose mahogany has aged to a lovely warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
