Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1900s.
It has two draw leaves, very unusual for a refectory table, as part of the solid oak top which stands on four beautifully turned legs all having a striking grain. A 'H' stretcher makes this table very solid and has been centrally placed so not interfering with leg room, again unusual for a refectory table but very practical! The oak is a wonderful natural golden shade, still maintaining its original finish with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
