This is a fantastic quality antique French five-plank solid cherry fruitwood refectory farmhouse 7’ 2” table, circa 1830. This table would have been constructed during the period of Louis Philippe in France for use in the provinces. The table top is constructed of five single cherry fruitwood planks and finished with a cleated edge, dowelled and pegged tenons (these are all signs of good quality). The table sits on four tapered and pegged legs. The table features one large working drawer. The table top and base is original. The table top features a superb colour and grain configuration. The table seat between 8 – 10 people and is sufficiently tall enough to fit your legs underneath and is sufficiently wide to accommodate serving dishes in the centre of the table.

Length: 83.5cm or 2ft 9”

Width: 219cm or 7ft 2”

Knee Height: 64cm or 2ft 1¼”

Condition Report:

In very good condition commensurate with age. The table features the original top, base, legs, and original working drawer. The turned wooden know to the drawer is also original. The table boasts a fantastic colour / patination. Nominal old use marks but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The table stands firm on the floor and it does not wobble. Free of active woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
