The top has moulded edges with attractive string inlay around the perimeter. The bow fronted top sits above two oak lined drawers with decorative brass handles and boxwood string inlay decoration to the front. The table sits on elegantly turned legs and is the perfect size to sit at the side of a sofa, perhaps with a reading light? There is evidence, to the expert eye, that the top has been modified. This was quite a common practice during the Edwardian period when additional decoration was often added, as is likely to be the case in this instance. It has resulted in a beautiful table having classic Regency lines with practical proportions. It is a warm rich medium shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
