Quality Antique Mahogany Large Regency 'D' End Dining Table.

This is a fine example of a quality Regency extending antique dining table made from mahogany with 'D' ends, circa 1810. This beautiful table consists of two 'D' ends and a central drop leaf table making it a very versatile piece. The two 'D' ends would make perfect console tables when not in use while the central drop leaf table could easily be used on a daily basis. When those annual gatherings of friends and family do occur then all component parts can easily be put together to create that grand dining table, ready to impress! In its entirety the top of the table is beautifully figured and held together with brass 'd' clips. Below the top sits a frieze with a decorative inlaid band. The table stands on moulded tapering legs and is a rich dark shade of mahogany. A typical example of a simple but very stylish piece of quality Regency furniture. It has a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
