Early Eighteenth Century Oak Side Table

A charming early eighteenth century oak side table. The table is in excellent condition standing on the original onion feet, the legs of turned baluster form are united by all the original moulded edge square stretchers. The table has a fine shaped front apron with a single drawer, which has as is the case with most oak of this date, later replacement handles. The top is constructed of three planks. The table has a wonderful colour throughout and the legs shine like a chestnut, the timber is well figured, and the patina is rich and untouched. The table is in very original condition, simply having replaced handles, and as with the best pieces of country furniture it has charm and character. C.1700.
