10 Seater Oak Refectory Draw Leaf Table with Ebony Inlay

Description

When we bought this now beautiful table it was in need of a great deal of attention. It has now been totally re-built , re-polished and treated for woodworm.

We estimate that this table was made around 1850 and the cabinet maker used some early peices of timber .

We have never seen a refectory table with this decorative ebony inlay but it is obviously original to the table.

The table measures 8 foot 9 inches long when fully extended and is 2 foot 9 inches wide and 29 inches high. The table closes to a measurement of 4 foot 9 inches. So it could easily accommodate 10 diners.

Having had the table completely overhauled the condition is excellent and will only be improved by further polishing.

On close examination the now treated worm holes may be seen on the bottom of the feet and nowhere else.
