Marble Topped Carved Gilded Tripod Table

A very unusual Nineteenth Century Tripod table incorporating earlier elements. This tripod base occasional table, which has a stylish country house look, stands on an elaborately carved base which is painted and gilded, with a circular marble top. The table base has actually been made from an Eighteenth century torchiere base and thus is finely carved and has been painted and gilded. The Table top has been added in the Nineteenth century and features a gilded apron and has a solid white with grey veined marble top.

The whole has a fantastic country house look and is a good functional piece. C.1850
