Pareglio & Ayres Antiques Interiors has dated these Minton Ironstone Pedestal Bowls to the 1860s.
Both pieces feature a slightly flared, scalloped rim highlighted with gilt detailing.

The pattern is richly executed both externally across the body and foot, and internally across the well, which features a central oriental garden pavilion scene framed by a dense floral border.
At 24.5 cm in diameter, this pair represents the larger variant of this specific form, offering an excellent scale for symmetrical table arrangements or interior display as statement centrepieces.

The bases carry the standard blue printed scroll pattern mark "Amherst Japan". Manufactured in Staffordshire, England, circa 1840–1860.
In very good antique condition. The underglaze enamels remain exceptionally bright, crisp, and stable across both examples. Free from structural cracks, hairline fractures, chips, or professional restoration. The interior wells are clean with minimal glaze crazing. Commensurate with age and honest historic utility, there is light, localized rubbing to the gilt highlights along the scalloped rims and minor, typical manufacturing firing anomalies beneath the glaze.
