Four Snuff Bottles Chinese Celadon-green Porcelain – Horses, Birds & Daoguang Marks

An attractive group of four Chinese porcelain snuff bottles in varied flattened forms, each with a pale celadon-green glaze, cobalt-blue animal decoration and a blue-banded neck. Two bottles depict galloping horses, one shows a pair of birds, and the taller bottle is decorated with long-legged birds. Each has a matching green-glazed stopper top. The tallest measures approximately 6 cm including its stopper.

The recessed bases bear four-character 道光年製 (Daoguang nian zhi) marks. These are treated as apocryphal reign marks and do not imply manufacture during the Daoguang reign. The group is tentatively attributed to possible late Qing or early Republic period, circa 1930.

Condition: The porcelain presents well in the photographs, with minor surface and firing irregularities. Three snuff scoops remain intact; the fourth is broken. The cork fittings vary in appearance and may have been replaced or refitted at some point. Their age and the scoop material have not been established.
