The beautifully figured burr walnut oval top is centred with an inlaid chess board in contrasting walnut and maple veneers, allowing the table to serve equally as an elegant centre table or occasional games table.The top is supported on a finely turned central stretcher with two elegant carved end supports, each standing on boldly carved cabriole legs with carved acanthus leaf decoration terminating in the original porcelain castors.
