Description

A fine quality burr walnut pedestal desk of generous proportions, raised on elegant carved cabriole legs terminating in well carved claw and ball feet. The rectangular top with rounded corners is inset with three gilt and blind tooled green leather writing surfaces, framed within a figured walnut crossbanded border.

The desk is fitted with an arrangement of drawers to the front, including long frieze drawers above deeper pedestal drawers, all retaining attractive brass swan neck handles and working locks. The drawer fronts are beautifully veneered in richly figured burr walnut, contrasting against the warm figured walnut ground. The reverse is finished with matching faux drawers, allowing the desk to sit well away from a wall while maintaining a balanced appearance from all sides.
