Pair of Dresden Art Nouveau Plaques

A superb pair of Dresden wall plaques in the Art Nouveau manner. The plaques are created in two tone colours, sage green and pure white with the figures modelled in high relief, including some that are almost threequarters free of the base. The scenes both show classical figures and animals and are Neoclassical in tone but also have the sinuous curves of the Art Nouveau. The pair both have an impressed Dresden mark with a shield motif, an unusual mark that I have been unable to definitively identify. The plaques are in excellent original condition and also retain the original green colour frames. A rare, fine and decorative pair of plaques. C.1900.
