Royal Dux porcelain originates from Duchcov, Czechia, where the manufacturer was founded in 1860. The factory achieved international acclaim for producing finely sculpted Art Nouveau and Art Deco ceramic figures, often decorated with soft pastel glazes and matte finishes.

These figurines are formed using hard-paste porcelain kaolin clay mixtures poured into multi-piece slip molds. After initial firing, the pieces receive painted glaze accents to define plumage details before undergoing final high-temperature kiln firing.

Authentic production is indicated by an applied pink clay triangle mark on the underside, typically embossed with the brand name. Vintage models also display four-digit impressed shape numbers and painted decorator marks stamped into the raw base.
