Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The dark brown, handsomely aged base with chamfered square reeded legs with a plain apron supports a 3cm thick, natural sandstone top measuring 88cm wide, the top is later fitted to the base which may have started life with a mahogany top.
A superbly stylish Georgian console table of considerable decorative appeal and versatile use within a dayroom or hallway, landing or bedroom etc.., the base has just been through our workshop for minimal conservation, showing an excellent colour.
The table is supported by bold square legs which compliment the 3cm thick stone, a very nice piece in very good condition.
