Sorrento Ware Tripod Table C.1860

Description

Beautiful mid 19th.c. Italian Sorrento ware tripod supper table c.1860. 40" diameter top with highly figured veneers laid in a radiating pattern with an inlaid marquetry work motif at the centre surrounded with fine inlaid stringing which is repeated around the outer edge of the table. Crossbanded edge also inlaid. Raised on a crisp turned walnut column and fine shaped tripod legs with inlaid tops and scrolling acanthus feet. Top can be tipped to vertical when not in use, locking into place with the original catch. Missing a few little portions of inlay, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
