FAQs

Maintain wood furniture by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate natural beeswax.

Pair the traditional wooden silhouette with modern minimalist seating and sleek lighting to create a balanced study space that highlights the craftsmanship of the desk.

Authenticity is identified through traditional joinery methods, hand-cut dovetailing in the drawers, natural ageing of the timber and patination on the brass mounts, alongside historical manufacturing signatures.

These pieces are traditionally crafted from foundational hardwoods like oak or mahogany, veneered with exotic woods in intricate marquetry patterns, and frequently finished with gilt bronze or brass mountings.

The bureau plat originated in France during the late seventeenth century as a large, free-standing writing table designed for officials and nobility, evolving through various classical revival styles in subsequent centuries.
