This is a lovely figure, originally sold by Oliver-Sutton, a celebrated and highly reputable specialist in Staffordshire pottery, based in London. As the label to the base confirms, this Zebra dates from circa 1860.

Staffordshire pottery was hand painted, giving each figure a distinctive character. This figure is in excellent condition and is especially well-painted (particularly the tail). There are no cracks or chips.
