FAQs

Early 20th-century oak coffee tables often draw inspiration from earlier historical periods such as Jacobean or Arts and Crafts movements, featuring sturdy construction, simple geometric lines, and visible timber grain.

These tables are constructed predominantly from solid oak, utilizing traditional joinery techniques like mortise and tenon joints, dowels, and stretcher bases for enhanced stability.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural patina, hand-planed surfaces, traditional tool marks, and period-appropriate hardware or joinery rather than modern mechanical fasteners.

Pairing a dark wood antique table with contemporary seating creates a balanced contrast, adding warmth and historical depth to minimalist or transitional living spaces.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate beeswax.
