Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The top is ornately carved out of the one piece of wood, (decoration is not applied as with later examples), which is in turn supported on an ornately turned, carved and reeded tripod base with splayed hand carved foliate cabriole legs, ending in carved and lipped pad feet.
