A massive Chinese porcelain brush pot, c. 1880, Qing Dynasty. The extraordinarily large brush pot, hand painted in underglaze blue, with the Emporer and attendants in a garden setting, before a large painting depicting waves crashing over rocks, with mountains in the background. Further figures stroll in the garden.
A continuous Ruyi head motif is painted around the rim, whilst lappets adorn the the foot rim.

Height – 34 cm, 13 3/8”.
Diameter – 27 cm, 10 5/8”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
